One of my friends has a great expression, and he uses it often. In this case... and at least for the time-being, "it doesn't get any better than this!" applies in full to the very impressive Disto A8.
Visionary DISTO A8

What's so great? The range and accuracy specification are the same as the A5 and A6, however with a boost in the name of "Power Range Technology". What this means to you, is greater measuring oooomph without the aid of a target. Right up around 100m.

Also in the aid of measuring longer distances more accurately is the 3x viewer. Now you can actually see the laser point at the target, rather than guess that the cross-hairs of your A5 or A6 are on the money.

Now read on for the exciting stuff.

The Disto A8 features "Slope Sensor Technology" - this means you can measure slopes by simply placing the Disto A8 onto the object. Genius.

It also features some of those functions lost way back in the time of the DISTO Pro4 and Pro4a - after taking remote/pythagorean measurements you can instantly see the angles too. Especially handy when measuring trusses, or kitchen benchtops.

Aimed specifically at the outdoor professional trades, this Disto has IP54 protection - and combined with its superior measuring range and targetting will make it hard to pass by. Expected price is $1,495 plus GST.
